When you use Skillinabox — whether through our website, scholarship forms, course enrollment, or quiz tools — we collect the following information:

• Contact details: Name, phone number, WhatsApp number, email address
• Location: City and area (if provided)
• Profile information: Age, family background, current occupation, goals — collected through our scholarship calculator and quiz tools
• Course preferences: Programs of interest, budget range, learning goals
• Payment information: Processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store card numbers or banking details on our servers.
• Usage data: Pages visited, time on site, browser type — collected via standard web analytics

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Contact you about your scholarship application or course enquiry
• Send course-related communications, batch updates, and enrollment details
• Process payments and issue receipts
• Personalise course recommendations based on your goals and background
• Improve our programs based on learner feedback and usage patterns
• Send WhatsApp messages about your application status (with your implied consent when you provide your number)
• Send marketing communications about new programs or offers — you can opt out at any time

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that significantly affects you, and we do not build detailed personal profiles for advertising purposes.

3. Who We Share It With

We share your data only where necessary to operate the platform:

• Supabase — our database provider (data stored on their secure servers)
• Razorpay — for payment processing (they have their own privacy policy)
• Google (Gmail) — for sending confirmation and notification emails
• Our internal sales team — Kishlay, Prateek, and Kanisk for lead follow-up
• National Institute of Design (NID) and NSDC — for certificate issuance (NID program enrolees only, name and completion data only)

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your information with advertisers.

4. Payments & Financial Data

All payments on Skillinabox are processed by Razorpay, a PCI DSS compliant payment gateway. When you make a payment:

• Your card or UPI details are entered directly on Razorpay's secure servers — we never see them
• We store only the payment ID, amount, and course name for our records
• You will receive a payment confirmation email from us
• For EMI enrollments, payment schedule details are shared by our counselling team over WhatsApp

5. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses minimal cookies necessary for the site to function. We may use:

• Session cookies — to keep you logged in to the CRM (team only)
• Analytics — standard anonymous page view tracking to understand how users navigate the site

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels (Meta Pixel, Google Ads tags, etc.) on this website. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

• Lead / enquiry data: Retained for up to 2 years, or until you request deletion
• Enrolled student data: Retained for 5 years for certification and record-keeping purposes
• Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law
• Email communications: Retained in our Gmail account per Google's standard retention

7. Your Rights

Under Indian data protection norms and principles of fair data use, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information
• Deletion — request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time
• Portability — request your data in a structured, readable format

8. Children's Privacy

Skillinabox programs are designed for adults (18 years and above). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted their information to us, please contact us immediately at prateek@skillinabox.in and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services evolve. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify enrolled students by email. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
